Maori - Amalfi Coast?
hi,i'm italian i live in a little town near Amalfi,so i can suggest you some places to visit.first of all amalfi is very nice, there's the famous cathedral of St. Andrew and lots of charateristic streets full of little and precious shops and boutiques. But there are other touristic towns here (near Amalfi,of course) : Vietri sul mare,Cetara,Maiori,Minori,Ravello (where you can visit the famous 'Villa Rufoli' from which you can see a very suggestive landscape) , Salerno (the principal town),with many medieval buildings and the 'Arechi' castle,Praiano( I love it),Positano,Sorrento (all these are dream places),Naples(rich of monuments, museums etc). And if you're here don't forget to visit the islands of Capri ( a little jewel in the sea) and Ischia!! they won't disappoint you, you'll be amazed! trust me,all is wpnderful here, the places, the people, the traditions..and the food,of course. Sorry for my English...bye!
I was in Amalfi for 5 days, it was a beautiful experience. A fantastic place. I stayed at the Hotel Residenza Del Duca. a very nice placed. the only but was that there is no elevator, and you have to go about 70 stairs to get to the reception. The food was good everywhere. The food at the Hotel Luna restaurant was excellent, it is at the tower, overlooking the ocean.
I ate at Le Arcals Ristorante, in Atrani. which is just about 50 yards from the Hotel Luna Convento.
We wen to to Ravello, a beautiful town abut 25 minutes from Amalfi. we took the bus and only cost $1.00 Euro. We also went to Inland of Capri, another beautiful place to visit. you can also go to Positano, which is only about 20 minutes by boat. Or you can visit Sorrento by boat or by bus. or tour guide. or visit the Emerald Grotto.
Have a great trip. You will love it.Maori - Amalfi Coast?
Ok there are basically 3 main areasthat are a must see:
Positano is a MUST SEE... words can't describe how beautiful this place is, it basically is built in a spiral shape with a road that twirls down right until you reach the bottom where the sea is, and in between there are many local shops, attractions and it is so amazing. If you go to Positano, you must go and eat at Il San Pietro, this is the best 5 star restaurant with a breathtaking view and amazing food http://www.ilsanpietro.it/
Sorrento is also another must see - really great shopping, world famous ice cream shops and really charming local shops here. The main piazza is really cute also.
If you visit Ravello, you'll be left with your mouth open if you go Palazzo Sasso restaurant (just check this out: http://www.palazzosasso.com/ check out the Rossellini restaurant on the terrace)- Ravello itself it has the most amazing view I think of the whole coast. Go also to visit the 2 famous villas, one is called Villa Ruffolo and the other Villa Cimbrone, they are really popular amongst travellers because of the famous poets who used to live there. From what I remember they're open to the public from 9am until sunset and tickets are 6 euros each - cheap! go to this site: http://www.villacimbrone.com/
If you go there and need any help, I suggest having a small tour of Amalfi from this company, I know the girl who runs it she is so sweet and the tours run quite cheap and are the best way I think to make the most of seeing the whole of Amalfi - http://www.theamalfiexperience.com/
The name i not Maori..but "Maiori"..on coast "amalfi" near Naples town..Look at internet for information..trip..tourism..Remember to visit a famous (cave) grotto ..called of emerald..close at city..look photo on web..
