Best places to go in Italy?

We're mainly looking at the Amalfi coast but anything would be nice. What specific places/areas would you recommend and why?Best places to go in Italy?
The adriatic coast from Marche to Puglia worth a lot.

Marina Di Pisa is the Sea port for Pisa. Great beaches ,food out this world.Recommend Rstorante da gino in Marino Di Pisa My wife's Dad Started it , Her family Runs it. Great Fish ,Mussels ,Steaks ,ETC Liverno is 3 miles down the beach Ocean Ships come in there. Pisa City is a few miles away. Old time Pizza maker still going after 70 years . Have not been for a while so I do not know if the present owner is. Florance in 40 minutes by train. Awesome.
you can get to most places of interest from Sorrento a Beautiful fishing village, theres the Vatican Coin fountain the French steps, Rome is definitely a visit in fact anywhere in Italy is fantastic.

I'm Italian! there are beautiful places in Italy ... like Venice, Naples, Tuscany, Sicily .....
Rome is a fantastic place but since your not looking to go there then I'm no so sure. But I have heard that Rovello near the amalfi coast is quite wonderful.
Amalfi coast is nice
