Best part of Italy to stay in?

I am looking for the best part of Italy to stay in. I have already been to Florence and surrounding areas so am looking to stay further south. Aside from the Amalfi coast I don't know much about the more southern regions and so can anyone suggest a place?

I would like to be near to the coast but stay near or in a nice town.Best part of Italy to stay in?

Cefalu

Taormina
Italy is beautifull but I cant say you the best part because each person is different.
I preffered Florence and Rom. Are two city very important. When I was in that place I rememberr the History a study at school.
But you can also stay in Mailand . I live in Lombardy and I go often in Mailand. Is very nice but is also very inquinad (Inquintato.. What is in English ?? Excuse me..). I live near Mailand.. In Cremona.. But a don't happy to live here.Best part of Italy to stay in?
If I were you, I would go to Abruzzo, which is full of history, culture and beautiful, small medieval cities. It's not exactly in the south of Italy, but I assure you that there heat may be a nightmare, expecially on summer. And you may even trust me, since I don't live in Abruzzo!
Gallipoli is a lovely little city in the south-east, region Apulia.

Lots of young people in summer, it's a nice place if you're looking for nightlife and fun. Wonderful sea.

It's 40 km far from Lecce, a beautiful city you should visit if you plan to go to Apulia.
Hi! Come in Genoa, where I live! :D

Hehe!

Well, in Italy there are a lot of beautiful cities to visit and stay:

Naples (Campania), Gallipoli (Apulia), Taormina, Cefal霉 (Sicily) and so on.

Hope this helps.

Excuse me for my bad English... I'm Italian.
Why don't you go to Sardinia? My brother went there one year ago and said it has got beautiful beaches and landscapes, the water is clean and amazing and the temperature is ideal... Sardinia is well worth visiting.
Hi! You should come here in Emilia - Romagna, where I live. Well, Bologna isn't very beautiful (in my opinion, there are a lot of more beautiful cities)..but we are near "mountains" and sea.. So ;)

Excuse me for my mistakes.
i'm italian and i live in Venice,

Bari , in southern Italy is great !! I have been there many times and it is a great part of Italy to visit :)
