Italy city to city by trainHi i would like to know whether there are trains going stright from rome to positano or amalfi coast. Thanks?
There is a train service from Naples to Sorrento - the CircumVesuviania railway. This is narrow gauge and not part of the main Italian State Railways, so a change is necessary in Naples. The line ends at Sorrento - there is no train service to Positano or Amalfi:-

The nearest railway station to Amalfi is Salerno, which does have links with most parts of Italy.Hi i would like to know whether there are trains going stright from rome to positano or amalfi coast. Thanks?
i used to live along that route, and though i never took it south of naples, i'd say it's likely.
check out the Roma Termini for more information. (that's the main train station in rome)
