Traveling the Amalfi Coast?

We are departing from florence and spending two nights, three days on the amalfi coast. we planned on staying in sorrento one night and somewhere on the cirque terre the second night. with a day trip to capri in the middle. what is the best way to go? train, Sita bus, or rental car? is it easy to navigate? does anyone have good recs as far as lodging?

let me know you travel pros!Traveling the Amalfi Coast?
If you're comfortable driving in Italy, go for it. You''l be able to stop at your leisure. The view is spectacular overlooking the Mediterranean.

Traffic and pedestrians are horrific.

The turns are quite sharp. Busses must negotiate them. they cannot make some turns in one move. It's just an easy day's drive from Naples to Sorrento.

If you want to stay overnight on the Amalfi, I suggest that you drive higher up the mountain to Ravella, about midpoint. It's not a lengthy drive but you'll love it. There are hotels and great restaurants way above the Mediterranean with speactacular view.

You may wish to visit Verdi's home there. His back yard overlooking the sea is where he composed and played his music. There is a fee.

Sorry, I can't give you any lodging. Been too long ago, but small ones are more Italian and not so touristy. Great food and wine.

Have fun.
