My wife and I are going to Amalfi Coast for 4 days and looking for fun things to do. We will hang out on the beach for a good portion of the time, but is there anywhere to snorkeling, cliff jumping, para sailing, etc. Thanks! What to do on a honeymoon to Amalfi Coast (Sorrento, Positono, Capri)?
You should take the Circumvesuviana train from Sorrento to Pompeii (the Pompei - Scavi Villa Misteri stop) while you're there. There's a wind surfing school at Duoglie beach near the port in Amalfi that can point you in the direction of the activities you're looking for: http://www.lidodegliartisti.it/EN/surfsc鈥?/a>What to do on a honeymoon to Amalfi Coast (Sorrento, Positono, Capri)?

What is the best place to stay near the Amalfi Coast?
What is the best town to stay in (hotel too?) in the Amalfi Coast area of southern Italy? I have heard Amalfi is a little touristy...Is there a kind of undiscovered gem in this area? What is the best place to stay near the Amalfi Coast?
I just visited the Amalfi Coast a month ago and although it's very beautiful you are right, you can find a better place to stay than the town Amalfi as it's only good for a day trip. I thought Sorrento was a much better town as it is just as beautiful yet bigger so all in all you have many more options to pass your time.
They had started decorating the streets for xmas when I was there and looked great so I can just imagine how it would look in the lead up to xmas.
For best hotels in Sorrento see:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g18778鈥?/a>
Otherwise if you're not into the bigger town, a little undiscovered gem is up the mountain behind the coast in a town called Ravello. It's very small although very quaint so you should enjoy the tranquility if that's your thing.
Hope this helps :)

Florence is so beautiful. You will be able to visit Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio, its Duomo (cathedral), the Baptistry (its exterior made of green and white marble are really famous) and the Ponte Vecchio (old bridge). Florence isn't a huge city, you're have gonna a great time and a good idea of how the city really is. You won't be able to have a full visit of Uffizi in Florence maybe, but you can choose certain rooms: e.g. Leonardo or Michelangelo. Keep in mind Uffizi timetable Tuesday-Sunday, 8:15 am - 6:50 pm. If you're looking for a good hotel in Florence go to http://www.scoobit.com/florence-hotel.ph鈥?/a> I went to the third hotel on the left. Nice and clean place, incredibly located. But feel free to choose the hotel that best fits your needs. Scoobit.com is to me the best website for hotels in Italy. You can book on line and there are no booking fees. To go from Florence to the Amalfi coast catch a train http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/homepag鈥?/a> the journey is about 3 hours. Planes would be just too expencive. How to get from Tuscany to the Amalfi coast?

From Milan to the Amalfi coast I would take the train, which was every very clean and cheap when I traveled with it. Here is the link http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html
I bet there are also offices of Hertz or other car rental firms in Milan which have also a place to return it in Naples.
I have very good experience with finding cheap flights by looking at the wikipedia-page of the airport of the city I want to go or at the airport site itself to find which airlines depart there, on base of this I search a cheap connection. May you have to use the airport Fiumicino of Rome. How would you travel from Milan to the Amalfi Coast? Then how would you travel from the...?
I'd walk from milan to Amalfi, and then I'd build a raft out of ordinary items and make an oar with something else, and then I'd use this raft to go from there to New York, it would be an amazing adventure!
Or I'd get into a cargo ship, or I'd just buy tickets for an airplane and just go there to New York.wheels and tires unique baby boy names

How to get to Amalfi Coast from Rome?
My brother and I will be backpacking Europe and we'll be in Italy in about a month from now. Lately we've been interested in reaching the Amalfi Coast but I heard it's difficult to get there. We have no means of transportation besides our rail passes that are good for trains and we're on a tight budget. Thank you!How to get to Amalfi Coast from Rome?
it's simple to take the train. probably go to sorrento then you have access to pompei and south of amalfi coast. research hostels since hotels will be very expensive. How to get to Amalfi Coast from Rome?
You can easily reach Salerno by train, straight from Rome, sometimes straight also from Milan, more often you have to change in Rome.
Salerno is the biggest city on the Amalfi Coast, from there you can reach by bus all the cities nearby, both on the coast and up to the mountains.

How much will I need spending money for a week on the Amalfi Coast?
Hi,
Myself and my boyfriend are planning to stay somewhere on the Amalfi Coast in a self catering villa for 1 week, (not yet booked - any suggestions would be great - we would NOT have a car) and I am trying to put a budget together. Could anyone give me some idea of the cost of eating out (booze included!) I can imagine it is failry expensive but just need to get an idea of how much we would need to take for 1 week. We would be eating out quite alot in the evening and we do like a drink! That really is where most of our money would go....
We are going in Novemeber
Also could anyone give me an idea of the temperature at this time of year?
Sorry thats more than 1 question!
Many thanks! How much will I need spending money for a week on the Amalfi Coast?
you don't mention where you are based %26amp; amalfi coast is large enough to make a difference-- unless you are by the bus stop, boat stop or train station you will want a car.....for that reason you would be better off staying near sorrento or a larger town rather than being in the country for easy access. eating out is not inexpensive, but variable as w/ any country. prices are comp to usa but the dollar is terrible.
you will need enough $$ to see sights such as pompeii, get to ishia %26amp; capri islands, museums etc %26amp; get around in general.. you won't be swimming very much in november...you can buy wonderful food %26amp; great inexpensive wines at the markets for your self catering villa.
take about 400 to be on the safe side but it is cheap to eat there :) av fun.How much will I need spending money for a week on the Amalfi Coast?
November is not the best period to stay in the Amalfi coast, as the weather is cool and relatively rainy.
Also, you want a car, as the public transportation is not efficient and you should move between the different villages.
You could opt for staying in some other place, like nearby Naples. It is just as beautiful and has museums and places you can enjoy with bad weather.
In terms of cost, it should not be too high. Say 30-40 Euros per night to sleep and 30 Euro per day to eat %26amp; travel for each of you.

An alternative option is to take a bus to Rome. This is a much better idea than it may sound at first. A bus company called Marozzi run a fast efficient coach service from Tiburtina Station in Rome to Amalfi (summer season only) or to Sorrento (all year round). Obviously this method of travel depends upon road congestion, but the buses are usually fast and comfortable. Typically the Rome - Amalfi bus will leave Rome at 7am, arriving in Sorrento at 10:30am and Amalfi at 12 noon. The Sorrento service outside summer months generally leaves Rome at 3pm and arrives in Sorrento at 7pm. The return journey is at 3:25pm from Amalfi, picking up in Sorrento at 5pm and reaching Rome at 9pm. There is also an early morning service from Sorrento at 6am. Do check the latest timetables as the times may change. The cost will be around 鈧?0 each way or 鈧?5 return to Amalfi, less to Sorrento. It is possible to buy tickets online, at various travel agencies in Rome (listed on the Marozzi website) or at the Marozzi kiosk by the bus station. (This is outside Tiburtina station; cross the area where orange ATAC buses are parked and you find a smarter covered area for long-distance coaches.) When we travelled on the buses a few years ago in October we were told there was no need to book in advance, so we queued at the kiosk just before departure, but we'd suggest calling ahead to check, especially in peak season.
Have a great trip! Jimmy
