i'm backpacking for a month in western europe and have 1000$ which is equivalent to 640 euros. will that be enough to cover hostels, food, etc. (already have plane tickets, passport, and eurorail global pass)Backpacking for a month expenses?
A month?? 640 euros??? consider your average nigt in dorms of a hostel to cost 15 euros, for 30 days this will be 450. im taking into account you want a good hostel which is safe. in europe it aint cheap. that leave you 190 for sights and food. i say take more, $1500 if possible, otherwise gather as much as you can and try and make the best of it
If you can I would try to save a bit more. I was in Italy for 8 days in January. We were pretty cheap, we did splurge on a nice hotel in Rome, but in Florence we stayed at hostel (private room) and a B %26amp;B in Venice. So if you stay in non private rooms at hostels it would be cheaper but just for food, sight seeing, I bought a few little gifts and souvinors and going out at all, we spent about $800 in the 8 days each.Backpacking for a month expenses?
Well some English prick just did it for 6 months without any money(bludger!!) and saved himself plenty. Went trough all western and eastern Europe. Hitchhiking, walking and travelling the trains with no ticket. All this under the pretences of collecting money for some cancer sufferers.
