Hi Im going to europe for about 1 month. Already bought plane tickets and eurorail! (Excited!!)
But many people told me that $1,300 is not enough spending money in europe which is what I have right now and I need you help. Is it enough?
I will have 1 week of free place to stay in sweden, I will sleep on eurorail overnight when possible and stay at hostels all the time. Buy food from grocery stores. Is $1,300 still not enough?Spending Money in Europe?
Everything is expensive in Europe. 1 dollar is 6 Swedish kronor, and you can't even get really crappy take away coffee for that. You can buy 12 gums, 1 fruit from Pressbyr氓n/7eleven or one bathroom visit at McDonald's. If you don't want to walk, (which you definitely can in Goteborg, but not in Stockholm, it depends on where you're going) you need to travel by bus or tram or subway. In Goteborg a tram/bus ride is 2 tickets = 20 Kr. I think it's the same in Sthlm. One night at a hotel is about 600 - 1000 Kr/night. Eating is kind of expensive. A meal at a restaurant is often somewhere between 70 - 150 Kr. Lunch is cheaper 40 - 70 Kr.
I think Sweden is a great country though, and you should definitely come here. Your money may not be enough, but if you buy food from grocery stores it might work out, just don't buy it from a store called "Hemk枚p", because it's very expensive there.
Well thats about 850 Euros. I was just in Paris and **** is expensive! You can't even steal food easily because they have guards outside of the grocery stores.Spending Money in Europe?
How long are you planning on going for? Do you intend to go to any museums? Monuments? Climb the Eiffel Tower? You REALLY think you're not going to feel like stopping for a cup of coffee (5鈧?in some countries) in the afternoon? not going to be tempted by the occasional pastry? What about cabs and busses and metro tickets? You really can't walk everywhere. Some cities are REALLY spread out.
Even a free place in Sweden is STILL in Sweden (everything is expensive in Sweden)
Let's see, most people are saying about $100/day or so, so if you're going to be more than about two weeks, you're going to run short, really fast! Dollar is at an all-time low in Europe right now. See if you can get something more from somewhere...borrow from mom and dad? siblings? sell your car?
raid now with the Dollar so low!!
I would say yes !
No way. I went on a European Cruise last summer and so i barely had to pay for the meals in Europe and it was still half the amount of money your bringing for 1/3 the time.
