Are the two hotels close to each other? I really like the Amenities at the Grand Wailea (the pools mostly) but I don't want to spend that much money. Is the Four Seasons just as expensive as Grand Wailea? If so, would it make more sense to just stay there? If I stay at Four Seasons Maui at Wailea can I visit Grand Wailea?
The Four Seasons is actually more expensive than the GW, and you cannot use the amenities at the GW unless you stay at that specific property.
Having stayed at both, I'll say that the pools are very cool at the GW, but be aware that it is a much more family-oriented atmosphere (kids running around screaming and splashing everywhere). I also always feel nickel-and-dimed when I stay here. The Four Seasons is very luxurious, calm and the customer service can't be beat. They are very nice to kids here, but kids are not the focus.
Have you considered the Fairmont Kai Lani? It's situated right in the middle of the other two properties (Four Seasons to the South and GW to the North), and you can usually get a great deal through either Classic Vacations or Pleasant Hawaiian. All the rooms are suites, and the pools are calm but there's still a waterslide. Of the three properties, I prefer to stay here. Maybe because it's all-suite, I feel like it's the best bang-for-your-buck out of the three.
Good luck with your decision, and if you go, be sure to have dinner at Spago at the Four Seasons and say hi to Andy!
If you have specific questions, add them and I'll answer - I've stayed at each property multiple times.
they are driving distance from one another (actually a bit of a drive depending on the amount of traffic). You cannot use the ammenities however you are able to visit the hotel. for the amount of money I would look into the sherraton on kaanapali beach...really nice.If I stay at Four Seasons Maui at Wailea can I visit Grand Wailea?
Hi,
As the others have said, you can't use the amenities at the Grand Wailea unless you are staying there. However, if you make an appointment for a spa treatment at the Grand Wailea, you get free valet parking and you can walk the grounds, which are beautifully landscaped and decorated, before and after your appointment. Otherwise, parking is like $20+ (yikes!). The Spa Grande at the Grand Wailea resort is rated one of the top ten in the country. The prices are comparable to any spa, plus you get the benefit of using their hydrotherapy multi-room treatments, which come complimentary before your appointment time (so come early to utilize them as much as you can). You can also make reservations at their restaurants (http://www.grandwailea.com/resort-dining鈥?/a> but I think you will still need to pay for parking.
Hope that helps. Have a good trip!
