Traveling to London and Europe. Advice for traveling?

We are going to London this summer, and then from there to Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam and then back to London to conclude our trip.

What is the best option (and cheapest) for doing this, I saw the 'eurorail' website but wasn't sure if they were just a ticket broker or what.

Any advice is appreciated. also with any 'must see's'.

Eurorail (or Eurail) provides passes that can be used on trains of participating countries. they don't run any trains of their own. The passes may or may not provide a savings over individual tickets. In your case, it's likely that individual tickets are cheaper. A couple of things to know about Eurorail passes: 1) they are not valid for trains in the UK, 2) many high speed, international and night trains require reservations and an additional payment even when you're using a railpass. This site is an excellent resource for train travel: http://www.seat61.com/ . It explains railpasses in detail including how to determine rather a railpass is better than individual tickets for your trip, which railpass (if any) is best for you and how to use the pass. It also includes links to the national train sites where you can find schedules an prices for the trains. The German site is one of the best for finding schedules throughout much of Europe: http://www.bahn.de/i/view/USA/en/index.s鈥?/a>

For the are you're trying to cover, it's likely that the trains are the best option for the trip, but you can compare to budget flights here: http://www.skyscanner.it/

What's a "must see" really depends on your specific interests. There are tons of guide books and websites on all these places; you can browse your local bookstores. A couple of good websites for Amsterdam and the Netherlands are: http://www.iamsterdam.com/ , http://www.holland.com/us/Tourism.htm . There is one special event going on - the Floriade: http://www.floriade.com/ It's essentially a once every 10 years world's fair of gardening. The last one was spectacular. This year, it's in Venlo which isn't particularly close to Amsterdam, but is easily accessible as a day trip on the train if you have the time %26amp; interest.Traveling to London and Europe. Hitch-hike on car ferries between UK en mainland Europe. Car ferries change per car and not per passenger. Like this you can get a lift across the channel for free.

Euro Rail tickets are best for on mainland Europe. (I personally love the Euro-rail tickets). With it you get an unlimited rail pass for (your) specified regions (for fast and night trains you pay a small extra 'supplement' fee). Great for city hopping and seeing random places (cheaply!).
