I would either go to china for 2 weeks and go to hong kong, shanghai, and beijing and see an event in the olympics or i would go to europe for a month and backpack through different countries with a eurorail pass. I am leaning more towards china since i have always had much more of an interest ini china than europe, no clue why, but i hear people all the time mentioning how much they love europe and am thinking if that would be the better move.Where would you go? China for 2 weeks and see beijing, hong kong, shanghai, olympics. Or Europe for a month-?
I would pick Europen for a month .. wow..., well.., I am living in Beijing and I go back to my home city, Hong Kong, twice a month, therefore, I have good reasons! And you can't compare two weeks with 1 month, there is a very big difference between time and expenses, with the same amount of money, going to Beijing and Hong Kong would make you eat / sleep a lot better as a backpacker!
I have been to cities around Baltic Sea, UK, Southern Europe, but I have never been to Austria, Czech Republic, Poland... etc.., wow.. I'm dreaming, and I know that I can't take any long holidays this summer! Both are good for you and you should see how much budget you have and plan your trip asap.
Bon voyage!
P.S. ... In summer, Northern Europe is really really nice to go, Stockholm is beautiful!
I would like to go to China. And would like to explore Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai and other big cities of China.
At this time, if there Olympics, it will be a great additional advantage to me. I would like to in China for two months. In this time I want to observe all the realities that made China a great coutry of our age. Through this tour, I want to check the possibilities for investment in China.
It is advantageuos for me to go to China rather than Euro Countries.Where would you go? China for 2 weeks and see beijing, hong kong, shanghai, olympics. Or Europe for a month-?
i would say China because it is much cheaper to travel in China. And the food in Hong Kong is great!!But in summer, China is rather hot, and Hong Kong is very humid in summer. If you hate this kind of weather, you better go to Europe.
Plus, i know that it's rather hard to find a place to stay in Beijing during the Olympics. Many hotels there are now fully booked.
Hmm living in Beijing and in my third year, I would rather spend one month in a country in Europe I have not visted before.
To be honest over the years the Olympics is not special for me, and I would think it would be the same for then it came to the UK. However if I somehow got tickets for the opening or closing parts of the games that would be another question.
I feel as the time gets nearer things will become more chaotic, I'm not looking forward the idea then I go out then the games are on in the centre of Beijing, with all the hawkers thinking that I would be "fresh off the boat".
Luckily my workplace has will be on holiday for this time, so I may well go back to Europe, or another plan is that I use it for travel to Tibet and/or Outer Mongolia to get away from it all.
Other than that I wish Beijing well, I hope that nothing bad does happen, I have a bad feeling something will kick off again. :%26lt;
I suggest you visit China after the Olympic because it is getting very expensive during the game ---- especially hotel.
Normally China tour goes to a specific region e.g. Northern China, Southern China etc.
I think this is because of the Flying cost.
The tour included Round Trip Airfare, all meals, hotel %26amp; ground transport.
Check your internet may be someone is operating tour to China %26amp; including Hong Kong.
I am in the exact same situation as you - not knowing whether to go back to my homeland (China) or a fantastic place with equally long and interesting history - Europe!
I've always had a fascination for Europe, especially its academic areas. To visit Oxbridge or Sorbonne would be fantastic, to study there would be the dream.
I think each has their own interesting culture and history - and in the end, its up to what you want, how you feel and most importantly - MONEY!
Dirty trick Joe M. You are level 1, same like my ghost. Why would you be interested in where anyone goes? The world is not so gulliable anymore. It will buy into your dirty propaganda only when they have some benefit, otherwise no sensible person would ever want to visit china at this time with dirty human rights record and oppression of tibetans.
China is your better trip. It is inexpensive to travel, sleep and eat. I spent 3 weeks in Chian and only spent $2000. CDN
and that was also with buying gifts for family here. I spent 3 weeks in hotel for $500. total with free breakfast, motel name is MOTEL 168 clean and nice , food is cheap and good scenery is excellent especially outside the citi=es even though inside cities is beautiful too
For me, I would go to beijing simply to see the olympics, as I want to see the weightlifting event very badly. I practice it, so I really love it. And the olympics doesnt happen quite often.
Going to China would be my choice.
However, do you like crowds? Because going to China during Olympic will make it even worse. You might want to go somewhere else during that time.
Europe will be a lot more expensive than China.
I would just go to Hong Kong for 2 weeks!
