Excluding England because I will be starting my trip there and have a place to stay for free. I would also like to go to the Netherlands as I have family there and can stay for free aswell.
Also, what cities/ places would you visit in the Countries you suggest? Is there a better way of getting around than EuroRail? I'm assuming no for the last question.
Note: I will be visiting between May-July '10 - I am a Canadian Citizen. (Don't know if this matters)If you could visit 5 european countries over 2 months, which ones would they be?
EuroRail is only a booking agency that sells passes that can be used on the various national train systems. The trains are an excellent way of getting around depending on where you want to go. You might find this site useful for information on train travel in Europe - it has a lot more than there is room for here: http://www.seat61.com/ . You need to know that even with the pass, you will need to make reservations and pay an extra supplement for most high speed, international, and night trains here. See: http://www.eurail.com/eurail-reservation鈥?/a> , http://www.eurail.com/eurail-reservation鈥?/a> , http://www.eurail.com/eurail-reservation鈥?/a>
It is often more economical to buy individual tickets directly from the various rail systems, especially if you can book in advance to take advantage of available discounts.
For longer trips, you might want to also check on the budget flights: http://www.skyscanner.net/ or http://www.whichbudget.com/en/
Starting in England and including the Netherlands, there are a lot of possible options any of which would be great trips. You might consider the Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy and Austria for example. What's best for you really depends on your interests and budget. You have enough time to cover a lot of territory.
I live in England and usually travel to over 5 European countries every 2 months. The best ones I have seen are, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Poland, Italy.
In Portugal I love to visit Faro where there is a nice Marine, I enjoyed the South of France for the scenery, I enjoyed Geneva in Switzerland for a city break, Poland was nice as it was different to the rest of the European countries, and I loved Italy for the culture.
I hope this is helpful. Send me an email and let me know which countries you have chosen, I might be able to recommend some good hotels and restuarants. If you could visit 5 european countries over 2 months, which ones would they be?
France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Poland
What countries you go to and sights you see are up to you. It is your vacation. Pick up some travel books from the store or library to help you decide what places you want to see.
The other poster obviously didn't see the "European" part of your question.
